We’ve been sewing
So here it is, Alexander’s teddy bag finally finished.
We finished it, well actually I finished it. The sun has been pulling us out of here every day to go to the playground or to ride bikes, so I decided to just sit down and finish it two days ago. (Today we spent the morning at the zoo, so I thought because yesterday was animal picture overload I’d leave my camera at home. ) You can tell by the grin on Alexander’s face that he, and Teddy, are quite satisfied with the result. He was very specific as to how it was to be done: quilted with a button and loop, mom! So that’s what he got. I really need to get to work on my other bags but for some reason my little man needed his bag done first.
I’m knitting away as I write this, are you impressed? Well, ok I’ll be knitting away when I’m done writing this, is that better? I’ve put my lace on hold for a bit to get this wrap around sweater done. I’ve finished the back and have started on one of the front pieces. Any other person would have had two of these sweaters done by now, but I like to think I savour each and every loop on my knitting needles and don’t want to miss the experience. Ok, ok I’m a slow knitter and haven’t been able to knit like I would like, the truth comes out. I’m going to improve, I promise.
Notice how Pip is petting my sweater? His mouth is open telling me how much he just loves the color.
Gotta get a knittin’.

Cute little wrap around sweater is on the needles
I’ve started my cute little wrap around sweater in pink. Could you imagine any other color? I’m going a bit crazy right now with pink which I think has a lot to do with the fact that two years ago when I was looking for a pretty pink for Alida I couldn’t find anything. Pink was tough to come by. Now that it’s ‘in’ I find it everywhere and I guess I need to hoard it before it goes ‘out’. It’s as if we might go to yarn color war with shop owners and instead of hoarding cans in the basement I’m hoarding pink yarn under the bed. Yarn is more important than food when the shop owners decide to cut back on their stock!! Oh what a terrible horrible thought-no more pink.
Anyway, I really like knitting this design because it’s a lot like lace and the yarn is very light and airy. It’s 85% cotton which will be great for the summer. I can’t wait to wear this baby when it’s done.
Oh we’re still under construction, as you can see, but we’re taking a break from php to take showers, feed the kids(oh, that’s right there are kids in this apartment too;-)), talk to other people, knit, go to work and… I think you get the picture. This weekend work should continue so stay tuned!

we’re under construction
Sorry, about the appearance of this new blog, I’m working on getting it up and running and I’m not too sure how it should look. I’ve taken over the most important links-the blogs I love to read but haven’t gotten around to doing the rest. Please be patient!! Let me know if you like reading this page. I would really appreciate it if you left me a comment because I need input.
As you might have noticed the face of this blog tends to change from hour to hour. I’ve tried so many already-made templates and they just aren’t my style so I’ve decided to take the plunge and tackle php to create my own look. Of course, hubby is helping, ok he’s doing the work while I knit in the background and agree with the many curses flying around the room. It will take a while so check back often to see our failed attempts to create a masterpiece. We are staying positive! uh yeah
