Look what came yesterday!! I won a prize, can you imagine? I was visiting Trek‘s blog, who just happened to be knitting Jaywalkers like me, when I saw this contest. I threw in a guess and look, I won this great book.

Thank you so much, Trek, this book is fabulous. My Lilly of the Valley pattern is in there and there is even an exclamation on how to do the bobbles much easier than how I was doing them. You are such a sweetie. I can’t get over what a generous person to send something so wonderful all the way to Germany. You don’t know how much I love books and especially crafting ones in English. This card is so pretty-I love the sea. I’m sending a little tiny something for you to enjoy. I hope you like it.
By the way, Tek, I liked your ghost story on Cara‘s blog!!

If those of you reading this haven’t read them yet, then go over to Cara‘s and read her post about ghosts it’s great. I love this kind of stuff and read all the ghost story comments last night, although I had so many other things I should have been doing instead.

Do you believe in ghosts? I do, but I have yet to encounter any.
You also need to visit Trek’s blog, she’s got some great patterns available and she’s got some fun sockage going on.

Speaking of sockage, my first jaywalker was finished last night. I’m not sure if I really love it yet.

Like I mentioned before, it’s a bit big so we’ll have to see how it wears. I have a big foot, size 10, so I knit the larger size but I’m afraid that’s a bit too big for me. This is my first fairly successful kitchener stitch toe and I ‘m not sure about the finished product. After answering the contest question about Tek’s sock, I went out and bought a scale(I’ve wanted an electric scale for some time now) and when my sock was finished I weighed it. Luckily, I have nothing to worry about, it weighs only 45 grams-I have plenty for the second sock.

Now that I have this scale I’ve been obsessed with weighing yarn. It’s a great way to see how much goes into a project. Oh the things I’m learning. And I’m having fun-good old geeky fun, I tell you!

Just for fun.

I just wanted to tell you how geeky I am.

I used to watch The Little House on the Prairie with my mom when I was little. I loved it! I have a dollhouse replica of their house waiting in the basement to be built, and for Halloween I made Mrs. Ingalls’ dress so I could be one of the Ingalls.

I’ve been watching the episodes again and look what I found yesterday. Mrs. Ingalls is wearing my shawl.

Hey, look she’s even spinning!  It’s wrong but it looks good.

Don’t you just love that crocheted hat Laura’s wearing?

Sorry but I’m a geek.

My last FO.

white sweater

I promised a picture, so here it is in all its I’m-not-too-excited-about-it glory.

This is not my favorite sweater although I do like it a bit. I’m not sure about the yarn but it’s 100% washable wool and so cosy. I ran out of yarn on the collar, that’s why it’s not as wide as I would like but it works. It’s a bit boxy and I’m thinking of threading ribbon through the side to pull it in. Anyway, it’s a great sweater to hang out in at home. It’s my own pattern but I’m not all that happy with it, so I won’t be writing it up. I have so much to learn!  Icabob says hello.

Alison at Alianne knits
is knitting and spinning. There’s some pretty yarn emerging over there.

Angelia at Angelia’s Knitting
has finished her killer long garter stitch scarf and her felted knitting needle case. Go, girl!

Ann at Fidget
is knitting some gorgeous blueberry waffle socks. Yummy.

Erica at Ackery
finished her Zen Dishcloth, airy scarf and her not-poncho. Go see for yourself how cute she is in the not-poncho.

Erica at Knitting Mama
is at it again-she’s knit some stunning socks.

Hanna at Zeusstrik (click on the extended version for English)
the poor thing ran out of yarn to finish birch! How sad is that. And it is so pretty. We’ll have to give her some words of comfort as such trying times like these.
Karen at knit2 blog1
has exposed herself by showing all her UFOs-she has some great ones going. Now can we get her to work on them? Her Tubey came out a bit itchy but looks fab on her!!

Kathleen at Knits Well With Others
is, as she so wonderfully puts it, kicking some serious sock butt. Unfortunately, there is pooh stuck to her socks. *wink*

la.ptite.lili at Fait Avec Amour (It’s in French but look at the top left for the translated version of her blog)
has finally finished her fuzzy polar bear mittens. Sooo fuzzy and too cool. Good job at finishing those New Year’s mittens.
Rachel at Have you any wool?
has let her reserve down and has given in to new projects. I can understand if those old ones were just no fun. Isn’t fun what this is all about? Knit on!

Sarah at Crafty Snargle
has, without knitting a stitch, finished her Mexicali Baby Ole ! That bear sure looks snugly in it. I also like the kitty pi you finished. Keep up that UFO work-one down, five to go.
Sharon at Knit Picking
is knitting incognito, I know it. She’s been busy going to concerts, or shall I say not going. Big hug!

Steph at Six Skeins Under
is working on one of the oldest UFOs to date-Feb. 2003! Gotta love that. She’s brought that baby back from the dead and it looks so fresh-great colors.

Suzi at Krawuggl
is going to surprise us with an old UFO one of these days. Yes, she will.

Uli at Uli’s Needlework World
has really rocked the boat with those neglected socks that are now finished and that amazing capelet all done, blocked and posed. Great job!!

If I’ve missed anything or written something that’s just not correct, let me know and I’ll change it ASAP! Knit on, girls, Easter is coming!

Not to put any kind of pressure on anyone, but Kimberly at The Giving Flower is fried to a crisp DONE!! hehe
