Hope all of you who celebrate Halloween have fun tonight!!
This is the pumpkin we carved this week. I’m off to help out in Alexander’s class and then to get ready for our own party this afternoon. Our neighbors have been warned. Hehe!!

This is the pumpkin we carved this week. I’m off to help out in Alexander’s class and then to get ready for our own party this afternoon. Our neighbors have been warned. Hehe!!
I’ve finally finished clue #4 of my secret of the stole. I’m now halfway done.
I say finally, although I just got the clue on Friday, because I had to finish these two things first:
These are Hallowigs for Halloween. I finished mine about 2 weeks ago but Alida’s was slow in coming, so on Saturday I did my best to finish it in time for Halloween. Hers is the same size as mine but with shorter hair in the back. I don’t think I’ll be wearing my wig for Halloween but Alida would like to be Snow White so black hair is just perfect. You do know we are going to have a party, right? We just love Halloween.
I’ve also been meaning to show you my spinning but just haven’t gotten around to it. I’m in love with my wheel again and managed to spin up 1/4 of my merino/silk mix which I’ve set aside for my next Clapotis. I love how cushy this yarn turned out. Rachel, this is the same as what you have.
Just 300 gr. more to spin up and I’m ready to cast on. Oh I can’t wait to get this on my needles but I must restrain myself, I want to have at least 1/2 of the yarn done before I cast on.
Thanks so much to everyone for leaving comments!!! I read and enjoy every single one!!! I’m so sorry I’m not able to answer them all but I have an incredibly hectic schedule that should let up sometime in January. Until then, I can only hope to post once a week, and although it makes me sad, I have to be happy with that right now. On Thursday of this past week I took my camera with me the entire day and took pictures to show you just what my days look like. I hope to be able to post about that soon, this week I have off from work and although I have tons planned, this is one of the things I really want to get done.
Thanks again for stopping by and leaving comments-knowing you all are out there really keeps me going!!
My Eris collar is done. I’m moving right along on it but I’ve run into a problem.
I now have to pick up and knit stitches around the edge of the collar in between the markers but how do you pick up and knit 29 stitches if there are only 24 to pick up??
I’ve taken it out and tried 3 times but I can’t imagine where I could get the extra stitches. Any good ideas?
I’ve also been working on my Secret of the Stole hint#3 all morning, with a small break to run to the post office to send some things off, but I’m not very far along. Ever since blocking my Mystery Stole I’ve been thinking about getting some blocking wires. I’ve seen these Dressing Wires online that look amazing but they are a bit out of my price range-does anyone know how to make your own good ones or where I can get cheaper ones here in Germany?
I’ve finally corrected and uploaded the pattern for my cabled fingerless. Here’s the link for the new pattern. (PDF)
Thanks, Tamina for knitting them and sending your picture.
Check out my kntty friend Fabienne-she’s in a movie. Here’s the link. Ok so it’s just a You Tube clip but that’s a movie to me. Close enough.
Oh and for all you moms out there, go and check out this video, it’s hysterical. Thanks, Chris for sending it to me.
Now back to my stole and later today a stitch and bitch meet. Life just doesn’t get any better. Have a great weekend!!
WIP Wednesday and a tiny, but cute, FO
It’s finally Wednesday, my grades are done, piano and ballet lessons are over, I’m far away from school and work, my kids are happily playing in the living room, so I can now show you some of the things I’ve been working on.
Here is the neck of my Eris so far.
I’m not too happy with the picked up stitches and wish I’d done a provisional cast-on to make the transition from one side to the other less noticeable, but that’s ok the cables are great. I’m worried a bit about the size I chose but I didn’t have enough yarn to make anything bigger so this is what I’m knitting. Oh for the love of cables!
I’ve also finished this little guy.
His name is Eggbert and he thoroughly enjoys knitting in his spare time. Eggbert has lots of spare time and lots of yarn.

He also has lots of friends.
He just doesn’t have lots of needles to knit his yarn. You see, he’s a sheep, a black sheep of all things, who has lost his knitting needles. I’m on the lookout for some itsy bitsy ones but have yet to find any. Poor Eggbert will have to wait. Just in case you were wondering, the German recipe for Eggbert was found here. He was knit on size 2mm needles with black and white Regia sock yarn. Don’t you just love the little guy?
Oh and because I don’t think I have enough projects going on at one time, I went ahead and cast on some of this gorgeous stuff I happened to acquire at our last stitch and bitch.
I’ve been eyeing this wollmeise yarn for quite some time now, and with our money situation the way it is, I thought I would never get any but now I have two gorgeous skeins; Tiefer See (deep sea) and Vergißmeinnicht (Forget me not). Yeah!! Although this is sock yarn, I felt it too precious for my feet and started the Clementine Shawlette from Interweave Knits Spring 2007. I wasn’t too sure if this was a good colorway for the pattern but the more I knit, the more I like it.
After seeing this gorgeous one from Elemmaciltur, how could I not?
