Oh boy, this Christmas break has been busy. We had so many things planned, we wanted to go ice skating, take the kids swimming, go to some Christmas markets and even do a bit of sledding but those things were not to be. Instead we had to drive to the house every day, twice a day, to open the doors and windows in the house so the floors would dry. The heat was turned on right before break and the moisture in the house is high so we had the pleasure of driving out to open her up and help the drying process which meant a loss of 4 hours a day in total. On Christmas day the boys got up at 5 to drive out, open the house and be back by 7 so that we could all open presents together. It’s been a lot of work but we all agree everytime we’re out there that it will all be worth it. Here she was this morning in the first real snow of the year.
I’ve been knitting as much as possible, which hasn’t been much because Santa brought us a Wii and it’s been hard for the little kid in me to stay away from Mariokart and bowling. Yesterday I finished the back of my must have house sweater and the fronts have been cast on. Why does red look so strange in pictures? I don’t have Photoshop installed so I’ll have to show you pictures untouched.
My first fishnet stocking is also finished and even the kids said it looked cool on! I won’t show socks on my feet until both are done but here she is lounging in the little sun we’ve had in the last 2 days.
I’ve been soo itching to sew but life keeps calling me in other directions so I’ve been forced to wait until my sewing room is done. Well, I’m off to air out the house one more time today and dream a bit about the spot that will soon be my ‘room’. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year’s!!
